ABOUT ME: BIO BACK
Mr. Andreasson is Associate Director on an interim basis at the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Business Research and Publishing division. For the past two years he was a Senior Editor at the New York office.
Prior to joining The Economist Group, Mr. Andreasson spent four years at a consulting company in Los Angeles where, among other things, he served as project manager for the United Nations Global E-Readiness Reports. In this capacity, Mr. Andreasson recruited and supervised the research team as well as contributed to the final reports.
Having published from 1993 onwards, Mr. Andreasson serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Technology & Politics. He is an elected member of the Pacific Council on International Policy, the International Institute for Strategic Studies and is a John C. Whitehead Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association. He has twice been selected as an expert participant by the United Nations on E-Government Readiness.
Mr. Andreasson is a recipient of the Wallenberg Foundation Award and the Sweden-America Foundation Fellowship. He is listed in current and past editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders.
Previously, Mr. Andreasson was a journalist for the second largest morning daily in Sweden, Goteborgs-Posten. Starting out as a freelance reporter he was appointed as Web Editor for a new online initiative, which he transformed into one of the most popular in the online edition reaching 30,000 unique visitors a day in 1998. Before leaving the newspaper he worked briefly as an Assistant Editor in which capacity he coordinated print and online production for breaking news as well as feature stories during the world's largest youth soccer tournament and in the process supervised 15 freelance writers.
Mr. Andreasson received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude with Honors, from New York University and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University.
